Mood Board Blog Post

The theme is beautification. It is very interesting to me due to the fact is always ends up going bad. Whether the product is well known or in the black market, the protagonist always ends up overusing the product. There are often characters who try to help the protagonist, but at the same time, they also often recommend the product.

The mood board represents the theme with the roses. The white roses symbolize innocence, but as the film would progress, the roses would turn red. The red symbolized the desire for the product as the white slowly fades out, losing the innocence and purity. By the end of the film, the roses would be black. Black roses signify a rebirth, loss, and a major change which the protagonist would go through to get to what they want. Despite that fact that the rebirth and major change isn't a good outcome, making them saddened for the loss of who they were before, but they can't stop themselves from using the product.

The roses within the skull and wrapped around the body show the product consuming the protagonist. This would mainly stem from Body Dysmorphia and them not being satisfied with how they look. Resulting in them allowing for the product to take over their life and body. Whether they isolate themself or are constantly out trying to catch someone's attention, they're never ever satisfied in the end. Which often causes them to use too much of the product and allow for the product to completely take over.
